UrBC, Magnitogorsk, August 15, 2019. Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) Vehicle Depot got founded fifty years ago this month, MMK’s Information, PR & Advertising Department reports.

‘The decision to set up the department (as it then was) was made by MMK Director Andrei Filatov on August 13, 1969. The primary function was to meet the metallurgical departments’ needs, that is, transfer rock mass, slag, refractory bricks, chemical components, machines, and equipment to their designated locations,’ the department says.

MMK Group’s Vehicle Depot is now one of the Southern Urals’ largest haulers, with over a thousand vehicles and an extensive production and technical infrastructure. According to MMK, the depot has a fully upgraded repair service and a pool of diagnostics appliances that gets updated on a regular basis to keep up with the design modifications of the automobiles MMK uses. The traffic regulation relies on up-to-date IT solutions.

More than a hundred out of the depot’s 1,500+ employees have government, departmental, regional, and corporate awards as well as honorary titles and certificates.
