UrBC, Yekaterinburg, August 6, 2019. Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK) classified EVRAZ Holding's Kachkanarsky Ore Mining & Processing Enterprise (EVRAZ KGOK) as a quality- and customer-oriented ore pellet supplier, EVRAZ Holding Ural's Corporate Communications Center 's PR Department reports.
NLMK's logistics and purchasing departments completed their assessment of supplier performance in 2018, evaluating EVRAZ KGOK as a Class A supplier (i. e. an outstanding supply reliability contractor) and giving it the score of 100 points.
EVRAZ KGOK makes some 6.5m tons of iron ore pellets a year. Most of this produce goes directly to EVRAZ Holding's Nizhniy Tagil Integrated Metallurgical Plant (EVRAZ NTMK), but up to 2m tons get sold elsewhere, with NLMK usually acting as the key customer for KGOK's pellets.
'The two companies remained partners even after NLMK launched its own pelletizing plant at Stoylensky Ore Mining & Processing Enterprise in 2016. EVRAZ KGOK supplied around 560,000,000 kg of pellets to NLMK in 2018 and 180,000,000 kg in the first half of 2019,' the company says.
NLMK buys grinding balls and rails from EVRAZ Holding as well. The companies also intend to test new product types and work on customer service improvements together.
