UrBC, Chelyabinsk, June 25, 2019. The first batch of pipes got delivered from ChelPipe Group’s warehouse to NLMK Group this month. The pipes made at the Group’s member enterprises Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling Plant (ChelPipe) and Pervouralsk New Pipe Plant (PNTZ) will get used for the major reconstruction of a blast furnace at Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK), NLMK Group’s primary production site.
According to ChelPipe Group’s press service, NLMK placed an order for a number of cold-deformed, hot-rolled, and stainless steel pipes (diameter: 14 mm to 426 mm; layer thickness: 2 mm to 56 mm). Based on the blast furnace assembly schedule, the entire amount will get shipped to customer by the end of the second quarter of the year.
‘NLMK Group is our key customer; we have been supplying the produce necessary for all of the Group’s major investment projects since 2013. Contributing to the reconstruction of primary tech equipment at one of the country’s leading metallurgical enterprises can prove an important stage in the history of our promising cooperation,’ says Director at ChelPipe Group’s warehouse facility Alexei Smirnov.
The renovation will increase the blast furnace’s productivity by 8% and will also reduce dust emissions by nearly ten times.
