UrBC, Magnitogorsk, May 29, 2019. Representatives of the German company Obermeyer Consult paid a visit to Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) after the former got selected as the general contractor for Prityazheniye, a unique urban development project, MMK’s Information & PR Department reports.

According to the company’s Director Stephan Jentsch, the visit was quite fascinating, and it was nice to see so many lilacs in bloom on the site and to see how clean the production sites were. The plant is the key local spot, with the entire town growing around it, so the German visitors tried to feel and understand the plant’s and the town’s culture in order to transfer it into the project.

Prityazheniye was first proposed by MMK Chair of the BOD Viktor Rashnikov; the idea behind the project is to create and develop a totally new quality urban environment that will be unique to Chelyabinsk Region.

‘The project covers multi-purpose development of nearly 400 hectares of MMK’s land, with a museum/training center, a sports facility, a clinic, and a number of parks for both quiet and dynamic recreation. Once everything has been completed, the town residents will be able to enjoy a large territory that appeals to people in every age group and has something to suit everyone’s taste,’ says MMK’s Chair of the BOD Viktor Rashnikov.
