Yekaterinburg Duma Deputies Look Into Akademicheskiy’s Social Infrastructure

19 April 2019 (10:20)

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, April 19, 2019. Yekaterinburg Duma deputies went to an off-site meeting at District Akademicheskiy’s children’s clinic this week. The goal of the meeting was to decide on the strategy of the social infrastructure development in Yekaterinburg’s eight administrative district, Yekaterinburg Council’s website states.

Vice Mayor of Yekaterinburg for Social Policy Dmitri Baranov went over the social infrastructure facilities already operating in Akademicheskiy: kindergartens, schools, and clinics. He pointed out that additional facilities in the education, culture, and sports sector would be needed — around twenty new buildings all in all.

‘The concept for the city’s new district uniting Krasnolesye, Shirokaya Rechka, Evropeyskiy, and Akademicheskiy is starting to take shape,’ Baranov said.

According to the talks given at the meeting, three schools, four kindergartens, and a polyclinic will get built in the area by 2023. As for the contemporary art center, the museum, the library/information center, the concert hall and other facilities that are part of the plan, it was suggested that the Duma deputies should look into ways to find investors for these construction projects.
