Ural Airlines Launch More Vladivostok-Sapporo Flights

15 April 2019 (09:14)

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, April 15, 2019. Ural Airlines will be operating more Vladivostok-Sapporo flights in the spring and summer: starting April 27, 2019, Japan-bound flights will get operated three times a week: on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, the air carrier’s press service reports.

‘Late April and early May are the best months to experience the cherry blossom season on Hokkaido. In Japan, the sakura is usually in full bloom in March and early April, but Hokkaido, the country’s northernmost island, has things happening a little later than in the south of Japan. Hanami, or sakura watching, reaches its peak here almost a month later than in the rest of the country, and thus coincides, rather serendipitously, with the May break in Russia. And once the cherry blossom season is over, Hokkaido will be enjoying lilacs and phloxes next,’ the press service says.

The flights from Vladivostok to Sapporo were first launched in December 2018 and got operated on Tuesdays and Fridays. Russian travelers soon came to appreciate the beauty of the skiing season, the delicious cuisine, the wonderful landscapes, and the many sightseeing opportunities Japan’s northernmost territory has to offer.
