UrBC, Moscow, March 26, 2019. Sverdlovsk Region’s waste recycling operators were given the 12th position in the rating of companies operating in Russia’s eighty-one constituencies in terms of how much they charge for household waste treatment and recycling. Sverdlovsk Region’s companies charge RUB 771.8 per m3 on average. The research on the operators’ pricing policies got carried out by FinEkstpertisa; it is reported the prices are at their highest in Krasnoyarsk Territory (RUB 1,696.7 per m3) and at their lowest in Primorye Territory (RUB 181.6 per m3). Chelyabinsk Region came 71st in the rating (RUB 387.6 per m3).

Now Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service is now looking into the operators’ pricing policies in Karachay-Cherkessia, Sverdlovsk Region, Kirov Region, and Sakhalin Region. The service’s investigation determined that waste treatment companies violated the pricing legislation in ten Russian federal constituencies last year: Sevastopol, Astrakhan Region, Belgorod Region, Chelyabinsk Region, Kursk Region, Kemerovo Region, Karelia, Rostov Region, Smolensk Region, and Vologda Region. The FAS issued a number of orders to reduce the garbage disposal prices.
