UrBC, Yekaterinburg, March 6, 2019. Students on ChelPipe Group’s Future of White-Coated Metallurgy Corporate Training Program and employees of the Group’s Pervouralsk New Pipe Plant (PNTZ) met the grand master of chess and multiple chess world champion Anatoly Karpov at ChelPipe Group’s Training Center.
According to the Group’s press service, Karpov talked about his success story and his plans to develop his chain of children’s chess schools all over the world; he also did a Q&A session with the audience and played a game of chess with the event’s youngest attendee, a seven-year-old schoolboy from Pervouralsk. The young chess player made some thirty moves and managed to end the game in a draw.
In addition to his visit to the Group’s Training Center, Karpov also took a tour of PNTZ Finishing Center for making OCTGs.
‘I’m greatly impressed with how this company built an entire system to train its new cadre. Complementing school-leavers’ knowledge with some practical skills training sounds very reasonable. It made me quite happy to see we have strong, competitive companies in Russia. I wish you every success; well done!’ Karpov said.
Anatoly Karpov also visited ChelPipe Quantorium Children’s Tech Park and held an autograph-signing session with the young players at the park’s Chess Room.
