EVRAZ ZSMK: 3 Workers Become Russia’s Qualified Engineers

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, February 26, 2019. Maxim Paramonov, Yegor Polevoy, and Andrei Syusyukin from EVRAZ Consolidated West-Siberian Metallurgical Plant (EVRAZ ZSMK) Rail Department got awarded the titles of Russia’s Qualified Engineers at the 19th All-Russian Engineer of The Year 2018 Contest, EVRAZ Holding’s PR Department reports.
The three awardees received their medals and badges of honor in the course of a solemn ceremony at the Russian Union of Scientific and Engineering Associations HQ in Moscow.
Yegor Polevoy is EVRAZ ZSMK Deputy Tech Director with a Ph.D. in Engineering Science, a member of EVRAZ expert community, and a specialist in the field of thermal treatment of metals. He is also one of the key contributors to the project on mastering a technology for making Russia’s first heat-strengthened 100-meter-long rails. Polevoy’s published work comprises 43 research papers; he also holds two patents on thermal treatment methods and on making rails suitable for low-temperature operation conditions.
Maxim Paramonov is the plant’s Central Automation & Mechanization Lab’s Senior Product Design Engineer; his published work comprises 16 research papers; he also holds three inventor’s patents and had four models of metallurgical appliances patented as well. Paramonov won the 3d EVRAZ WorldSkills Championship in CAD Engineering Design.
Andrei Syusyukin is the Head of EVRAZ ZSMK’s Metallurgical Thermal Engineering Office with a Ph.D. in Engineering Science, a member of EVRAZ expert community, and a vital contributor to the projects on the Rail & Beam Department’s renovations. His published work comprises 24 research papers; Syusyukin also submitted and introduced 46 improvement proposals and had his way of making rails without retarded cooling appliances and his model of casting roller-making technology patented. His ideas on how to make the equipment more reliable, cut energy spending, and make the plant’s Rail & Beam Department and Steel-Smelting Department more productive are now being used at the plant. Syusyukin also was EVRAZ ZSMK Engineer of The Year in 2018.
70,000 people from 59 Russian federal constituencies submitted their applications for the 19th All-Russian Engineer of The Year 2018 Contest all in all. There were 387 winners in the contest.
