EVRAZ, Kachkanar Council Sign Cooperation Agreement

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, February 13, 2019. EVRAZ Holding signed a socioeconomic cooperation agreement with Kachkanar Council, EVRAZ Holding Ural’s Corporate Relations Center reports.
EVRAZ Vice President and Head of EVRAZ Holding Ural Denis Novozhenov, Managing Director of Kachkanarsky Ore Mining and Processing Enterprise (EVRAZ KGOK) and EVRAZ Nizhny Tagil Metallurgical Plant (EVRAZ NTMK) Alexei Kushnarev, and Mayor of Kachkanar Andrei Yaroslavtsev signed the agreement in the presence of First Vice Governor of Sverdlovsk Region Alexei Orlov.
The agreement sets our the terms and conditions on which EVRAZ and the town council will work together on a number of large-scale projects in Kachkanar. The company will co-finance a ski resort with three- to five-kilometer-long skiing pistes; help design Martial Arts Palace; and present the town with the reconstructed Vanadium Hotel (which is to get converted into an apartment building to home doctors and teachers coming to work in Kachkanar). The parties will also work on Kachkanar heating supply system’s best operation mode and will implement a series of socially important projects to boost the town’s development.
Kachkanar Council promises to support EVRAZ’s efforts and ensure stable legal and administrative environment for the holding’s investments in and development of the town and the business.
‘EVRAZ has always been a CSR-oriented business with a great interest in the development of towns where it operates. We care about the kind of environment our workers live in. Together with the mayor, we came up with a sports facilities development program. Sports have always been big in Kachkanar; I can remember coming here to play football as a child. We intend to invest RUB 175 million in the town’s development in the next few years; we also plan to sign a special agreement with Sverdlovsk Region Government as well,’ says EVRAZ Vice President and Head of EVRAZ Holding Ural Denis Novozhenov.
