25 December 2018 (09:39)
UrBC, Yekaterinburg, December 25, 2018. EVRAZ Holding’s Nizhniy Tagil Iron and Steel Works (NTMK) was declared Sverdlovsk Region’s Benefactor of The Year (in the ferrous metallurgy sector) this month. The nominations were part of the Charity Days events that Sverdlovsk Region’s industrial enterprises joined to present their benefactors’ reports for the year 2018.
According to the company’s PR Department, EVRAZ NTMK supports thirty schools and kindergartens in Nizhniy Tagil, as well as a number of colleges.
This year, a student design office opened in Ural Federal University’s Nizhniy Tagil Institute of Technology with NTMK’s help. The office works to help students polish their design and 3D modeling skills. Also, a wiring workshop opened in Nizhniy Tagil School 49, where children and teens can even train for professional skills championships. Next, Kindergarten 66 now has a sports playground for pre-schoolers.
NTMK also sponsors Culture Palaces and health camps and supports children with disabilities. More than eighty local children are now taking part in the company’s social welfare program (EVRAZ for Children): volunteer teachers coordinate the children’s equine assisted activity, art therapy, and photo therapy sessions.
