UrBC, Moscow, November 8, 2018. Zhukovsky International Airport welcomed its millionth passenger of the year on November 6, 2018. The passenger was Yelena Melnikova, who flew from Tbilisi to Zhukovsky, Moscow Region, on board Ural Airlines’ flight U62466. Ms. Melnikova traveled with her daughter, Daria, who joined in the fun, the air carrier’s press service reports.

‘We expected nothing of the kind upon our arrival at the airport. When people started greeting us at the terminal, my first thought was that something bad must have happened. And yet this proved to be such a pleasant surprise! We were presented with gift vouchers to fly anywhere we want, but we haven’t made up our mind yet,’ she said.

Airport management representatives, airline representatives, and members of Zhukovsky town council all took part in the solemn welcome ceremony. All the passengers on the lucky flight got treated to some refreshments, and the winner got a special gift as well: Melnikova can now use her voucher to get two tickets to any of Ural Airlines’ flights operated from Zhukovsky free of charge. The gift voucher is good for a year, and, in fact, increasingly more destinations will become available to the winner throughout these twelve months: Ural Airlines are Zhukovsky Airport’s key partner and keep introducing ever more flights from there. In 2019, new offers will include flights to Europe’s major tourist destinations. What is more, the winner will also be able to use the airport’s Comfort+ lounge at no extra cost.
