UrBC, Yekaterinburg, November 7, 2018. Rosatom Energomash’s asset SverdNIIKhimmash supplied an evaporator unit to Kursk Nuclear Power Station in October, the company press service reports.

The unit is part of the liquid radioactive waste filtering and reprocessing system and is meant for salting-up through vacuum evaporation. The unit cost more than RUR 4.5m to buy.

The evaporator was made by Krasnodar-based AK ESKM Corporation on schedule and in full compliance with the technical specifications provided by SverdNIIKhimmash; the evaporator meets all the necessary quality requirements and has a lifespan of thirty years.

‘Shipping the evaporator unit to customer is among the final stages in the delivery of this ion-selective liquid radioactive waste filtering and reprocessing system to Kursk Nuclear Power Station. We intend to complete the entire devilry by the end of the year, as well as to have our cementing unit also commissioned by the customer,’ says Senior Engineer for Radioactive Waste Reprocessing Denis Bulatov.
