MMK Presents Mobile Solutions at Open Innovations Forum in Moscow

UrBC, Magnitogorsk, October 24, 2018. Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) presented its new mobile apps designed with the goal of optimizing the plant’s business processes at the 7th Annual Moscow Open Innovations Forum, the company press service reports.

The Forum took place at Skolkovo Foundation’s campus on October 15-17 and was dedicated to digital economy.

Nine MMK representatives took part in the forum altogether, including four heads of production departments who are currently studying on MMK Director-General’s School Industry 4.0 Program.

Director of MMK-Informservis Vadim Feoktistov presented his report at the panel session on Metallurgical Upgrade: Digital Modernization from Mine to Ready Goods. He told the panel attendees about the successful launch of My MMK smartphone app which provided the company workers with full access to all the necessary data; he also spoke about Evolution, an app that allows an employee to submit an improvement proposal almost instantaneously, without the need to use a regular computer. Evolution is made very user-friendly for all the workers who contribute to MMK’s improvement proposal pool.

According to Feoktistov, MMK Supplier and MMK Customer apps both ensure efficient interaction with the plant’s suppliers and customers. Mobile MRO app is used to coordinate the production and maintenance departments’ activity in a more professional, transparent, and personnel input-efficient way.
