FGC UES Western Siberia Completes Scheduled Repairs 98%

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, October 4, 2018. Federal Grid Company United Energy Systems’ Western Siberia branch is about to complete its preparations for the fall and winter of 2018/2019.

According to the company’s press service, their seasonal repairs program is now 98% complete. RUR 1.7bn got allocated for the repairs (including preparations for peak workload times). Additionally, the company rescue and engineering teams cleared up more than 3,300 hectares of electric mains passageways and repaired 329 km of 110-kilowatt mains. 366 power transformer units, 624 switchgear units, and 467 disconnecting devices also got repaired at the power substations in the area.

The branch currently operates 355 special-purpose vehicles and has 55 repair teams. 23 contractor teams with their 18 special-purpose vehicles can get called upon in case of emergency.

In addition to this, all of FGC UES’s branches and subsidiaries coordinated practice drills in order to prevent large-scale power outages in bad weather, including during the fall and winter.
