UrBC, Magnitogorsk, October 3, 2018. The European blue-collar jobs championship EuroSkills 2018 is now over in Budapest. Alexander Arapov and Maxim Aksenov, who study at Magnitogorsk Polytechnic School, both won silver in Mechatronics, Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) press service reports.
‘The Russian national team proved truly triumphant at EuroSkills 2018. Our team was No.1 in the team competition, just like two years ago in Gothenburg, Sweden. In Budapest this time, however, we won both in terms of score and in terms of the number of medals. Russia’s national team got more gold medals than any other out of the twenty-nine participant countries’ teams. We now have nine gold medals, eight silver ones, and two bronze ones all in all, as well as ten medallions given out in recognition of a contestant’s professionalism. Russia thus outstrips both Austria and France (in terms of medals) as well as Austria and Hungary (in terms of score),’ the press service says.
Magnitogorsk Polytechnic School students Alexander Arapov and Maxim Aksenov, who won silver in Mechatronics, contributed to Russia’s national team winning the first prize in the championship in Budapest. Both students earlier won the Russian round of the championship and received a professionalism medallion in last year’s world championship in Abu Dhabi.
