Sverdlovsk Region: Customers Get RUR 6.2m Back in Faulty Purchase Money

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, August 23, 2018. Sverdlovsk Region-based customers got RUR 6.2m back upon returning poor quality products in the first half of 2018, the local division of Rospotrebnadzor (the state consumer rights watchdog) reports.
1,342 customer complaints got placed with the agency in January-June 2018; most of them had to do with smartphones, household appliances, and furniture.
It is also reported that the share of faulty items rose in the first half of 2018 compared with one year earlier. For one, the share of poor quality household cleaning products went up from 34.4% to 52.9%; the figures for children’s toys, clothes (for grownups), furniture, and lighting fixtures increased from 44% to 54.8%, from 47.1% to 54.8%, from 56.6% to 73.1%, and from 8.2% to 22.8%, respectively.
