UrBC, Chelyabinsk, July 18, 2018. The representatives of the Chinese business delegation proved quite impressed by the job the South Urals Chamber of Commerce & Industry’s interpreters did at the contracts exchange in Chelyabinsk on July 11-12, the CCI’s press service reports.
More than a hundred Chinese companies and over three hundred Chelyabinsk-based businesses took part in these negotiations. Interpreters from a range of professional sectors, including those from the South Urals CCI, were engaged to ensure smooth communication.
‘We were helping our Chinese partners under the Far East Exhibition Committee’s supervision. There was a team of eight interpreters on the first day of the event and a team of five on the second day,’ says head of CCI’s Translations Department Anastasia Kovaleva.
‘We think very highly of the interpreters’ performance. Their knowledge of all the field-specific terms was especially impressive. In fact, these teams did a much better job of interpreting than the ones I’ve worked with in China,’ a Harbin-based executive said.
