Sverdlovsk Region: Gas Prices Up 9.1%

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, June 25, 2018. Retail price of gasoline rose by 9.1% on Sverdlovsk Region market in January-May 2018 compared with one year earlier and currently comes to RUR 40.8 per liter on average, deputy head of Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service’s Sverdlovsk Region division Ekaterina Vorobieva said at a press conference in Yekaterinburg today.
According to Vorobieva, the average retail price came to RUR 35.4 per liter in the year 2016; the figure went up to RUR 37.4 in 2017 (up 5.6%).
A liter of diesel fuel could be had for RUR 37 on average in 2016 and for RUR 39.16 a year later (+7%). As for January-May 2018, the retail price rose by 8.6% and reached RUR 43 per liter.
As for wholesale prices, Vorobieva says these increased even more noticeably: a liter of AI 92 grew 7.8% more expensive than in the year 2017 and the price of AI 95 and diesel fuel rose by 8.4% and 14.6%, respectively.
