UrBC, Magnitogorsk, June 20, 2018. Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) charity foundation Metallurg’s Woman’s Health Project won in this year’s first presidential grants contest, with state funding provided for the winning non-profit organizations.
‘The key idea behind the project is to support the expectant parents in social, medical, and psychological terms. Two hundred families will join in the project, including two hundred pregnant women who are all employed at Magnitogorsk’s various industrial enterprises but are currently on leave because of harmful working conditions; the women have been directed to Metallurg for support; their spouses and children will also get involved,’ MMK says.
The expectant mothers and their families will get personal assistance during the first two trimesters and will also be receiving help in the final trimester and until their baby is six months old.
