UC RUSAL’s Top Managers Resign

UrBC, Moscow, May 25, 2018. Most of UC RUSAL’s top management, including Director-General Alexandra Buriko, resigned, Kommersant refers to the company’s official statement as indicating.

Vladislav Solovyev, Siegfried Wolf, Maxim Sokov, Dmitri Afanasyev, Gulzhan Moldazhanova, Olga Mashkovskaya, and Ekaterina Nikitina all leave the company’s Board of Directors on June 28, 2018. Evgeny Nikitin (52) will serve as the company’s acting Director-General starting May 23, 2018.

According to UC RUSAL’s release, the U.S. sanctions might do serious damage to the company’s production and sales.

UC RUSAL and Oleg Deripaska’s other assets got sanctioned by the U.S. Government on April 6, 2018. The U.S. authorities later stated they would be willing to lift the sanctions if Deripaska handed over his stake in the business to other parties.
