MMK Sets Up New Metal Center in Tatarstan

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, May 15, 2018. The solemn opening ceremony of MMK-Dzhoshkunoz-Alabuga Service Center took place in Tatarstan today. The center is a JV run by Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) and OOO Dzhoshkunoz-Alabuga, a steel stampings manufacturer working for the car industry,’ MMK press service reports.
The service center is location in Alabuga, Russia’s largest industrial production-oriented Special Economic Zone. The solemn opening ceremony was attended by President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Governor of Chelyabinsk Region Boris Dubrovsky, MMK Chair of the BOD Viktor Rashnikov, MMK Director-General Pavel V. Shilyayev, Dzhoshkunoz Holding A.Sh. Coordinator-General and MMK-Dzhoshkunoz-Alabuga Director-General, Ford Sollers Director-General Adil Shirinov, and other officials and car making companies’ representatives.
OOO MMK-Dzhoshkunoz-Alabuga makes steel blanks that are used for making car parts. The center’s production capacity is estimated at up to 60,000 kg a year. The center can help Russian carmakers and foreign manufacturers operating their plants in Russia enable a full production cycle. This is particularly relevant for plants based in the Volga Region and the Urals. Ford, KAMAZ, KAMAZ Daimler, ARNPO, Nissan, AvtoVAZ, GM-Avtovaz, UAZ, GAZ, and other companies are all the center’s potential customers.
