ChelPipe Group Ships 6,000,000 kg of LDPs to Uzbekistan

UrBC, Chelyabinsk, March 16, 2018. ChelPipe Group delivered around 6,000,000 kg of large-diameter pipes to the Republic of Uzbekistan; the order was placed by Enter Engineering, one of Central Asia’s leading oil and gas companies, the Group’s press service reports.
The LDPs (diameter: 1,020mm; layer thickness: 10mm) have a three-layer corrosion-resistant outer coating and are made from K52 steel. The pipes will be used to reconstruct existing pipelines in Uzbekistan.
According to ChelPipe Group, the order had to be fulfilled on a short notice: the entire cycle from the order getting placed with the manufacturer to the manufacturer shipping the ready goods only took thirty days. This was possible due to coordinated efforts of steel suppliers and the Group’s ad hoc logistics scheme.
‘Exporting more to customers in the CIS member states is one of the Group’s top priorities,’ says ChelPipe Group’s Commercial Director Denis Prikhodko.
‘Last year, despite growing competition, the company managed to sell more LDPs to Uzbekistan than in the previous years and thus holds 11% of the country’s market at the moment. The Group intends to build up on its share of the market even further in the future.’
