UBRD Female Cardholders 27% More Active in 2017

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, March 12, 2018. The Ural Bank for Reconstruction & Development’s female cardholders spent nearly RUR 14bn paying with their cards for goods and services last year; this is nearly 40% more than what the bank’s male customers spent, the UBRD’s press service reports.

Women spenders mostly use their bank cards to pay for food, clothing and footwear, and drugstore items.

Compared with one year earlier, they used their cards 27% more often, spending 22% more money than in 2016. This much is clear from the number and amount of transactions registered.

‘In terms of spending patterns, both men and women spent over RUR 4bn doing grocery shopping in supermarkets and corner stores. This is the only thing these two customer segments have in common, however. Men spend more money on gas, repair services, and building materials, for example, while women spend more on clothes, shoes, and pharmaceutical produce,’ the press serve says.

Female customers make up 61% of the bank’s active cardholders.
