UrBC, Magnitogorsk, January 23, 2018. Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) came first in the national rating of zinc-coated and paint-coated rolled metal goods according to Metallosnabzheniye I Sbyt magazine, MMK Information & PR Department reports.

The magazine carries its rating of Russia’s leading ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgical enterprises and their suppliers on a regular basis. The latest issue features the rating for the second half of 2017. MMK has remained on top of this rating as the best zinc- and paint-coated rolled metal goods producer for over two years now.

In fact, the company has raised its rolled goods output quite significantly in the last fifteen years thanks to production expansion.

For one, three new continuous hot-dip galvanizing units and two polymeric coating units got launched.

Also, yet another hot-dip galvanizing unit was launched in 2012 as part of the second extension to the plant’s new cold-roll mill facility, as was a combined continuous annealing/hot-dip galvanizing unit.

Finally, Hot-Dip Galvanizing Unit 3 was launched in Sheet-Rolling Department 11 in 2017. The unit’s capacity is estimated at 360,000,000 kg of rolled produce a year. Once the unit got launched, MMK’s zinc-coated goods output soared to more than 2,000,000,000 kg a year. The plant won the Russian Metallurgical Sector’s Event of The Year Award 2017 at Metal Expo for this achievement last year.
