Yekaterinburg Developers Put Up 1m m2 of Housing This Year

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, December 21, 2017. Yekaterinburg-based developers are going to get slightly under 1m m2 of new housing commissioned by the end of the year. This is the first time since 2013 that their overall output stands at less than 1m m2 a year, Deputy Head of Yekaterinburg Council for Capital Construction & Land Use Alexei Belyshev said at a press conference.

‘963,000 m2 of new housing will get commissioned in Yekaterinburg this year altogether, including 868,000 m2 of apartment buildings, 73,000 m2 of private houses, 13,000 m2 of low-rise buildings, and 9,000 m2 of special-purpose homes,’ he said.

According to Belyshev, 1.023m m2 of housing got commissioned in Yekaterinburg last year and 1.194m m2 and 1.041m m2 in 2015 and 2014, respectively.

The last time Yekaterinburg’s annual housing output amounted to less than 1m m2 of new housing was in 2013, when 870,000 m2 of housing got commissioned.
