UrBC, Yekaterinburg, December 8, 2017. A solemn opening ceremony of a new Children’s Art School took place in Karabash, Chelyabinsk Oblast, on December 6, 2017. Russian Copper Company presented the school with a professional musical instrument as a housewarming gift, the company press service reports.
Governor of Chelyabinsk Oblast Boris Dubrovsky congratulated the young art students on the school opening; over RUR 48m were directed from the constituency’s budget to put up a new, three-level building for a school with a sixty years’ history.
The new building is big enough for two hundred young musicians, artists, and dancers. A choreography department was added, as the old school building had no room for dancing classes.
‘I’m confident the children’s art school will prove a new creative workshop, this will be a favorite place for all Karabash locals. We made every effort for this to happen. Now it is up to you, and welcome!’ Dubrovsky said.
Thanks to the Governor’s support, the school got both a modern, comfortable building to work in and all the necessary equipment and appliances. Russian Copper Company, whose asset Karabashmed is the town’s primary employer and the town council’s key social projects partner, gave the young students a special present: a professional Yamaha piano.
‘The school had been dreaming of a piano like this for years. This is more than just a good quality, reliable instrument: this is the incredible sound that the teachers have already appreciated the full value and power of. We are sure that a professional instrument will help this school produce even more talented performers and will give the locals an opportunity to enjoy classical and modern music,’ says Russian Copper Company’s Vice President for Hiring and CSR Anna Shabarova.
