Visa UBRD Holders Can Use Apple Pay

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, December 6, 2017. Holders of Visa cards issued by the Ural Bank for Reconstruction & Development (UBRD) can now use Apple Pay, the bank’s press service reports.

‘Apple Pay centers on security and confidentiality. When you add your credit/debit card to the system, the card number doesn’t get stored on either your Apple device or Apple servers. Instead, you get a unique device account number that gets encrypted and safely stored within a chip inside your device. Every transaction is authorized through a unique, one-time, automatically generated security code,’ the press service says.

According to UBRD Marketing Director Alexei Merzlyakov, promoting hi tech services such as Apple Pay is part of the bank’s strategy that is aimed at great customer service and offering good quality, up-to-date banking products that help the bank’s customers handle their financial routines in a convenient way.

‘The UBRD cardholder feedback proves that customers are extremely interested in mobile proximity payments: every one in five customer queries this year was related to just that: new contactless payment services. So we are expanding the range of payment options by introducing Apple Pay,’ Merzlyakov said.

Apple Pay is very easy to set up: you can add your credit/debit Visa card to the system using your Wallet app. To pay for your shopping, you can use your iPhone SE, iPhone 6, and later iPhone versions, as well as your Apple Watch.
