MMK Opens Experience-Sharing School

UrBC, Magnitogorsk, November 14, 2017. An inter-plant production experience-sharing school for managers and white- and blue-collar workers in the hot-rolled sheet-rolling industry opened at Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) on November 13, the company press service reports.

Employees of Russia and the CIS’ largest metallurgical enterprises all joined in the workshop, including experts from NLMK Group, Severstal, Vyksunsk Metallurgical Plant, ArcelorMittal Timertau, Mariupol Iron & Steel Works, and Chermet. The latter has been hosting such workshops since the year 2000. Over twenty hot-rolled production experts contributed to the event all in all.

‘A round table discussion meant for opinion-sharing and report-making is planned for the first day of the conference. Tuesday and Wednesday is designated for getting acquainted with MMK hot-rolled sheet manufacturing departments, hot-roll Mill 2000 and Mill 2500, and plate iron Mill 2350, Mill 4500, and Mill 5000. These mills are currently among the most powerful ones operating in Russia,’ the press service says.

This is the 93d time the quarterly experience-sharing workshop has been held in the metallurgical sector.
