EVRAZ Wins Medals at WorldSkills Hi Tech

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, November 10, 2017. Employees of EVRAZ Holding’s West Siberian Integrated Metallurgical Works (ZSMK) won eight medals at the 4th WorldSkills Hi Tech blue-collar job championship and came third in the overall medal rating, EVRAZ Holding Siberia’s Corporate Relations Department reports.
One gold medal, three silver ones, and four bronze ones set a new record for EVRAZ WorldSkills Hi Tech team. Fifteen EVRAZ employees competed for the prizes altogether, including a number of junior contestants from Meridian Children’s Arts & Tech Center in Novokuznetsk. The young contestants Ruslan Falin and Kirill Storchevoy won silver in Wiring 12+.
EVRAZ ZSMK electric engineer Pavel Tereschenko won the first prize in Wiring; electric equipment mechanic Sergey Cherepanov won silver in Industrial Automation; electric welder Kirill Gladyshev and Maria Tsaregorodtseva from the plant’s Central Chemical Test Lab also won silver in Welding Technologies and Chemical Lab Tests, respectively.
Electric engineers from the plant’s rail and beam department Yakov Ischuk and Alexander Nenashev won bronze in Mechatronics. Repair mechanic Anton Grinazhuk and rail and beam department foreman Maxim Grigoriev also won bronze in Sheet Metal Treatment and Non-Destructive Testing, respectively. The latter contest category was introduced at WorldSkills Hi Tech for the first time this year.
Additionally, 28 experienced EVRAZ employees worked on the experts’ panel during the championship.
