The carrier has more LTE base stations than any other company, with the overall number up by 39% in the nine months of this year (60,000 all in all). LTE base stations make up 44% of all newly built infrastructure facilities this year,’ the press service says.

Every one in six MegaFon new-generation base stations got installed in the Greater Urals. The company’s 4G network now covers 396 towns and cities and is available to 83% of locals.

‘MegaFon Ural handles 400m Mb worth of traffic daily. The traffic amount keeps rising, as does the people’s wish to enjoy ever greater downloading speed. Thanks to the new, better LTE coverage, our customers throughout the country can now use their Internet connection comfortably both at home and while traveling around Russia,’ says MegaFon Ural’s Director Valeriy Velichko.
