MMK Gets Quality Management Systems Audited
8 November 2017 (09:18)
UrBC, Chelyabinsk, November 8, 2017. Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) coordinated a group audit of all its quality management systems (involving both the plant’s production departments and its daughter enterprises) for the first time this year, MMK Group’s Information, PR & Advertising Department reports.
The overall QMS certification procedure involved auditing the integrated management systems at daughter companies and took up all of September. For four weeks, TUV NORD CERT auditors worked away at MMK production site.
The certification body experts looked into the way quality management processes ran both at MMK and all the companies involved in the plant’s production processes. Some of these companies produce and supply metal goods, cement, ferruginized magnesian limestone, fire-resistant products, scrap metal, spare parts and replacement equipment, mould powders, and rollers. Others specialize in repair and construction services, IT infrastructure maintenance, and repair and maintenance of railways. The audit touched upon United Service Company, Ogneupor, Stroitelny Kompleks, Mekhanoremontnyy Kompleks, Magnitogorskiy Tsementno-Ogneupornyy Zavod (MCOZ), Shlakservis, Remput, MMK Informservis, Profit, Magnitogorsk Plant of Rolling Rolls, and MMK METIZ.
The group audit thus covered twelve MMK Group assets. In about six of them, the procedure involved not only getting their quality management systems certified for compliance with the ISO 9001 standards but also getting their environmental management systems certified for compliance with the ISO 14001 standards and getting their industrial and job safety management systems certified for compliance with the OHSAS 18001 standards.
Additionally, the quality managements systems of MMK and MMK METIZ got certified for compliance with the international ISO/TS 16949 requirements (a special standard for carmakers and their suppliers).
Remput got certified for the first time this year and proved its QMS was quite efficient.
Following the audit, both all the daughter enterprises and MMK Group as a whole will get issued compliance certificates.
