UrBC, Yekaterinburg, November 7, 2017. Workers of EVRAZ Holding’s Urals- and Siberia-based enterprises are going to take part in the blue-collar job championship WorldSkills Hi Tech in Yekaterinburg EXPO on November 3-7, 2017, the holding’s press service reports.
There are fifteen contestants and twenty-eight experts on EVRAZ team. The contestants come from EVRAZ Holding’s Nizhniy Tagil Integrated Metallurgical Works (NTMK) and West Siberian Integrated Metallurgical Works (ZSMK); they all won in ZSMK Corporate WorldSkills Championship in Novokuznetsk in May. There are seven categories to compete in: Mechatronics, Welding, Electric Wiring, Industrial Automation, Chemical Lab Tests, Sheet Metal Treatment, and Non-Destructive Testing.
This is the first time EVRAZ employees will compete in Chemical Lab Tests, Sheet Metal Treatment, and Non-Destructive Testing. The company will also compete in Electric Wiring 12+ for the first time this year, with students from Novokuznetsk-based Meridian Children’s Tech Center Ruslan Fadin and Kirill Storchevoy presenting their skills.
‘EVRAZ Holding is taking part in the WorldSkills Hi Tech Championship for the fourth time now. Our young employees have won prizes here many times before. In 2016, the holding’s workers won four silver medals in Electric Wiring, Mechatronics, and Welding,’ the company press service says.
