UrBC, Yekaterinburg, September 25, 2017. Fifty students of Pervouralsk Polytechnic enrolled on ChTPZ Group’s Future of White Metallurgy Corporate Training Program. They will all train to get qualifications as professional welders, the company press service reports.

ChTPZ Group and Pervouralsk Polytechnic signed a cooperation agreement on The Future of White Metallurgy at the All=Russian Research-to-Practice Dual Education Conference in April 2017. The program goes along the lines of the German dual education system, with 40% of the time spent on classroom learning and 60% of the time spent practicing on site. Students on the program will have access to up-to-date educational resources and will be able to go through their internships at the plant with highly qualified mentors who are employees of the Group’s Pervouralsk New Pipe Plant.

‘Our company’s innovative production departments need ‘multifunctional’ employees with a wide range of professional skills. A dual education system provides just such skilled workers. Thanks to our cooperation with local schools, we can create programs designed to produce workers with specific skills and competences we need at our plants,’ says ChTPZ Group’s HR Director Svetlana Kuzminykh.

According to Director of Pervouralsk Polytechnic Elena Marchenkova, students need both to learn the theory and get some practical experience on the modern industrial equipment in order to find a job in the hi tech blue-collar field.
