UrBC, Yekaterinburg, August 10, 2017. Seats for the new version of Ural Locomotives’ Lastochka, the electric train, were presented at Moscow’s Rizhsky Station this week. The new train is meant for Russian Railways’ Federal Passenger Company’s inter-constituency routes, Sinara Group’s press service reports.

Both top mangers and middle-level employees of Federal Passenger Company as well as representatives of Russian Railways’ Technical Policy Department, Passenger Transit Administration, and High-Speed Transit Directorate and Ural Locomotives’ design engineers contributed to the discussion on the design of the train’s interior and ergonomic solutions.

There were four passenger seats on display, all varying in comfort levels and presented by four different suppliers. This discussion was part of a series of work meetings on the final technical specifications for the high-speed electric train’s new version. Russian Railways’ representatives took a look at Ural Locomotives’ production facilities earlier and were quite impressed with the plant’s engineering level.

The high-speed electric train for Federal Passenger Company is meant to be suitable for both AC and DC railways and will be used on routes up to 700 km long.
