EVRAZ ZSMK Makes British Standard Fittings

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, August 3, 2017. EVRAZ Holding’s West Siberian Integrated Metallurgical Works (ZSMK) now makes B500B fittings (diameter: 10-40 mm) that meet the British Standard, EVRAZ Holding Siberia’s Corporate Relations Center reports.
This new produce means EVRAZ will be able to export more fittings and to build up on its share of international rolled goods market.
‘A pilot batch of fittings got subjected to all the necessary tests in CARES, the British certification authority, and proved to fully comply with the BS 4449-2005 standard. The standard sets very strict resilience requirements: a sample unit must withstand ongoing workload at least 5m times. B500B fittings made at ZSMK from St3Ps and 18G2S steels proved highly durable, which is crucial for fittings used in sophisticated infrastructure facilities such as bridges,’ the Center says.
The BS-compliant fittings are bound to be popular with customers and enjoy demand on the Pacific Rim market (India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore) as well as Australia and New Zealand.
