Aleksandrinskaya Ore Mining Company Rebuilds Tailing Dump

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, July 26, 2017. Russian Copper Company’s Aleksandrinskaya Ore Mining Company recently had its tailing dump reconstructed, the company press service reports.
The project took two years and 95m RUR to complete. The dump was equipped with new pipes to increase the 6.5-kilometer-long pulp discharge pipe’s and the water duct’s capacity. The protective dam got increased by a further 3 meters. Special piezometers and other sensors got installed to keep an eye on the dam condition.
‘The current tailing dump has been operating since the processing plant was launched in 2001. In 2014, when our ore output doubled, there arose the need for a bigger, renovated dump. The new dump will improve our tailings handling efficient and will ensure the processing plant’s safe performance,’ says Aleksandrinskaya Ore Mining Company’s Director-General Natalia Bondarenko.
