UrBC, Magnitogorsk, July 25, 2017. Metallurg Magnitogorsk Charity Foundation will receive 159.9m RUR from its primary benefactor Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) in the third quarter of the year, MMK’s Information & PR Administration reports.
The money will mostly get spent on organization of festive events, namely, Metallurgist’s Day and Town Day. 5,660 long-service employees from local industrial enterprises, people working in the city’s civil service sector, and public sector workers from the nearby Agapovsky and Kizilsky Districts are expected to attend. A show will take place at Arena Metallurg Sports Palace on July 13, and all those who come will be treated to a basket of goodies.
MMK was founded eighty-five years ago this month, so the charity fund intends to celebrate with a number of guided tours of the plant’s premises, pleasure trips, tea parties, and shows at schools and children’s clubs.
‘Over 10,000 children and teenagers from Magnitogorsk and nearby villages will take part in the School Start activities this year. These will take place at schools, kindergartens, clubs, and other establishments and will be coordinated and attended by Magnitogorsk Legislative Assembly deputies for MMK. Some money will be donated to twenty-eight special-needs boarding schools in the area.
