ChTPZ Group’s Training Center Hosts WorldSkills Championship

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, June 20, 2017. An opening ceremony of the 2nd blue-collar jobs championship WorldSkills Hi Tech took place at ChTPZ Group’s Training Center.
‘On June 16-20, workers from the Group’s five member enterprises (Chelyabinsk Tube Rolling Plant, Pervouralsk New Pipe Plant, ETERNO, Alnas, and Izhneftemash) will compete in the championship,’ the Group’s press service says.
The contestants are all blue-collar workers aged 18 to 28 who compete in five different categories: Mechatronics, Welding Technologies, Wiring, NC Milling/Turning, and (for the first time in Russia this year) Industrial Mechanics & Assembly.
‘It was ChTPZ Group that brought the worldwide WorldSkills movement to Russia. The Group’s Training Center is going to be the key site to prepare the WorldSkills Russia winners for the international competition rounds in Industrial Mechanics & Assembly,’ the press service says.
Twenty-five workers from the Group’s pipe-manufacturing and O&G service and maintenance divisions as well as a number of invited contestants from Brazil are taking part in the championship. All the competition challenges are based on the WorldSkills international formats and standards.
