Yekaterinburg to Apply for EXPO 2025 in Paris

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, June 14, 2017. Governor of Sverdlovsk Region Evgeny Kuivashev will take part in presenting Yekaterinburg’s application to host EXPO 2025 on June 14. The presentation will take place within the framework of the Bureau International des Expositions’ General Assembly in Paris, Governor of Sverdlovsk Region’s Information Policy Department reports.
The application was signed by Russian Prime Minister Dmitri Medvedev and submitted to the BIE at the end of May. Yekaterinburg is going to compete in this with Paris, Osaka, and Baku. The decision will be made at the General Assembly’s 164th session in November 2018 following the voting by the BIE member states’ representatives.
In case Yekaterinburg gets to host the event, the exhibition will take place in May through November 2025 and will be dedicated to ‘changing the world through affordable innovations for our children and the future generations’.
