UrBC, Yekaterinburg, May 24, 2017. EVRAZ Holding held its 3d charity corporate race in Nizhniy Tagil recently, EVRAZ Holding Ural’s Corporate Relations Center reports.
The sports event was dedicated to the holding’s 25th anniversary this year and was joined in by some 5,000 residents of Kachkanar, Yekaterinburg, Nizhniy Tagil, and Nizhniy Tagil suburbia.
‘Around a thousand runners, including some three hundred children, ran the race on the city’s central streets. Six-year-olds were the youngest racers in the event, while this year’s oldest participants are about to turn eighty. Every runner got a special starter kit with a T-shirt and a microchip that scanned the time it took a participant to run the distance,’ the Center says.
Evgeny Markov from Petrokamenskoye, who hit the finish line in 16 minutes 22 seconds, won the first prize in the men’s race. Petr Medvedev from EVRAZ NTMK blast furnace department, with his 17 minutes 1 second, won bronze. Student of Ural Applied Arts School Ksenia Penzina was the best in the women’s race and finished in 19 minutes 59 seconds. Senior Economist from EVRAZ Holding’s Ural division Valentina Zykova came second. Sofia Zykova from Nizhniy Tagil, who was done with a 1,000-meter race in 3 minutes 11 seconds, was the absolute champion in the children’s race.
