Visa: Net Profit Down 31%

UrBC, Moscow, April 24, 2017. The American company Visa Inc.’s net profit dropped by 31.4% in the first half of the financial year 2016/2017 and amounted to $2.5bn, Prime refers to the company’s report as stating.

The company’s diluted profit thus reached $1.04 per ordinary share against $1.51 one year earlier. Visa’s operating profit came to $8.938bn, which was 24.2% more than in the previous financial year.

The company’s net profit shrank by nearly four times by the second quarter, with diluted profit at $0.18 per share (compared with $0.71 in the previous year’s second quarter) and operating profit at $4.477bn, which exceeded the figures for a year earlier by 23.4%.
