UrBC, Yekaterinburg, April 12, 2017. Ural Vagon Zavod Corporation recently got its all-purpose platform railcar 13-192-01 with a wooden floor and collapsible side panels certified by Federal Railway Transport Register for compliance with the Customs Union Regulations 001/2011. The certificate is valid for the next five years.

According to the company press service, the railcar is meant for use in Russia, the CIS member states, the Baltic states, and everywhere throughout the 1,520-mm zone and is suitable for transportation of wheeled and caterpillar-tracked vehicles as well as long and bulky items, timber, metal structures, packages, and certain loose items that do not need to be protected against rain or snow.

The new railcar was designed at the corporation’s Ural Railcar Building Design Office by order of Russia’s Defense Ministry and Federal Freight Company.

The concept was first presented to the general public at the Army 2016 Exhibition; the latest modifications on the basic version consist in a side flap that makes loading military vehicles (up to 65,000 kg) onto the platform easier.
