Ural Vagon Zavod DG Takes Part in Exhibition in India

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, March 22, 2017. A Russian-Indian industrial/military conference was held in New Delhi, India, on March 17-18, 2017. Ural Vagon Zavod Corporation’s Director-General Alexander Potapov took part in the event along a group of Russian delegates chaired by Russia’s Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov.
According to the corporation’s press service, the event opened with a plenary session dedicated to the two countries’ military and technological cooperation options. Also, round table discussions were held on aviation equipment and developments for the Army and the Navy. The contributors talked about the current status of the Make In India Initiative, the two parties’ industrial cooperation along existing programs, and the issues related to after-sales services for customers of Russian vehicles and equipment.
‘Ural Vagon Zavod has been working with its Indian partners for many years now, supplying armored vehicles for the Army. We are quite prepared to expand our cooperation options, including within the framework of the Make In India Initiative,’ Potapov said.
The company DG held a number of work meetings during the conference. There were talks with India’s Defense Ministry Secretary (Defense Production) A.K. Gupta, India’s Director-General for Mechanized Forces A. B. Shivane, BHARAT FORGE’s Executive Director A.B. Kalyani, and a Sun Group representative.
The Russian side was represented by executives of Russia’s major defense industry enterprises. In the end, a number of important Russia-India agreements were signed.
