Lastochka Premium Train Gets Certified
1 March 2017 (15:42)
UrBC, Yekaterinburg, March 1, 2017. Lastochka Premium ES2GP, an electric train made by Ural Locomotives (Sinara Group and Siemens’s joint venture), was issued a certificate of compliance with the Customs Union’s technical requirements, Sinara Group’s PR Center reports.
‘The wintertime tests were carried out in December 2016, with test results considered at an Intergovernmental Committee meeting; the train was then issued a certificate of compliance in February 2017. Premium proved even more efficient during the tests than the existing regulations required. For one, its dynamic and strength characteristics, as well as energy spending and braking system, were even better/lower than needed. Lastochka Premium performed very well during a trial run from Yekaterinburg to Tyumen and back in November 2016. It took the train 3 hours and fifteen minutes to get from one point to another, which is one hour less than the fastest train currently available on this route. Lastochka’s speed was 150 km/hour on average at the time,’ the PR Center says.
Lastochka Premium is designed for intercity distances of up to 200 km.
