UrBC, Yekaterinburg, January 20, 2017. Ural Vagon Zavod Corporation’s head plant came up with a performance report for last year and looked at production goals for the year 2017, the company press service reports.
Ural Vagon Zavod’s Executive Director Vladimir Roschupkin said ‘the team met all the goals for the year, with the best outcome possible in the given circumstances.’
‘Despite the current economic hardships caused by the stagnating railcar market and rising metal goods prices (+3% to 33.5%), the plant managed to perform as well as in the record-setting year 2012. We made over 101bn RUR worth of products (up 23.7% on the year 2015). Last year, we also introduced a number of new liquefied natural gas and methanol tanks (15-588-01 and 15-150-05, respectively). The plant is also working to produce 19-6870, a hopper car for transporting grains. We started making six types of new railcars last year,’ the press service says.
Ural Vagon Zavod also invested in capital repairs and special-purpose vehicle/equipment upgrades as part of the plant’s defense procurement program. All the spare parts and military equipment were supplied to the Russian Army in accordance with the exiting contracts. The company’s export contracts were also fulfilled in full.
