UrBC, Yekaterinburg, January 17, 2017. Russian Copper Company gave out valuable prizes to amateur photographers for their bright and expressive pictures of a light show projected onto Yekaterinburg Council building, the company press service reports.

‘Russian Copper Company’s light show, coordinated on December 29-January 8 with support from Governor of Sverdlovsk Region Evgeny Kuivashev, was probably the most memorable event of this year’s winter break in Yekaterinburg. The multimedia show got projected onto the city council building, with pictures and videos on Yekaterinburg’s past and present, the familiar New Year themes, and Ural industry (including copper production). All those who got to see the show were quite taken aback and expressed their admiration in many ways,’ the press service says.

Russian Copper Company also coordinated an Instagram contest, inviting the participants to take a picture of the light show and upload it on Instagram under #lightshowRCC. Over 2,200 photographs were submitted for the contest.

The awarding ceremony took place in the city’s main square on January 13.
