UrBC, Yekaterinburg, December 28, 2016. Sinara Group’s Sinara Development, the general contractor for the reconstruction of Yekaterinburg Arena Stadium in time for the World Cup 2018, reports the stadium will get commissioned in about twelve months, the company press service says.
‘The perimeter of the would-be stadium is now complete: there are eight pylons to support the roof, metal structures of the roof itself, concrete structures of the northern and southern spectator stands, and almost complete structures of the western and eastern stands (these are now seven levels high). We are currently working on the fourth level of the entire stadium, where locker rooms, team managers’ offices, umpires’ offices, warm-up halls, and a conference room will be located,’ says Sinara Development’s Director-General Timur Ufimtsev.
97% of all the necessary iron and concrete structures have by now been assembled and installed in place. The four transformer substations, an entry checkpoint, and personal search pavilions are currently being worked on. The internal engineering infrastructure (water supply, heating, sewage, and so on) is 60% ready. In fact, heat is already supplied to the first floors of the building.
The eastern spectator stand will also get decorated with imitation half-timbered panels to accentuate the stadium’s historic facade walls.
