Ural Vagon Zavod to Sell 14,500 Railcars Next Year

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, December 26, 2016. Ural Vagon Zavod Corporation plans to sell 14,500 freight railcars of all types next year, the company’s First Deputy Director-General Yuri Bolyayev said at a BOD meeting.

According to the company press service, the Board of Directors met in Moscow on December 22 to look into the year’s performance results. The meeting was attended by the corporation’s top management as well as by heads of the company’s member enterprises, including design offices and research institutes.

‘Ural Vagon Zavod remains one of the Russian defense industry’s most viable companies. We make thousands of products and get hundreds of state contracts every year,’ the corporation’s Director-General Oleg Sienko said.

This year, the company worked to promote its civilian goods on external markets. There are plans to set up joint ventures to make and upgrade rolling stock and spare parts and design and produce railcars for foreign customers.
