UrBC, Yekaterinburg, December 26, 2016. Ural Vagon Zavod Corporation’s Chelyabinsk Tractor Plant (ChTZ) got twenty of its tractors repaired and recycled; the tractors were made at the plant a while ago and grew worn-out by now, the plant’s press service reports.
The repair/recycling jobs were done for the customer in charge of maintaining the oil company Bashneft’s facilities.
‘The tractors got de-assembled, washed, cleaned, and inspected inside. All the parts that needed to get repaired or replaced were sent to our production department. The tractors were then re-assembled in accordance with our regular serial production technology, that is, as if these were new vehicles. Naturally, once assembled, the tractors got thoroughly tested and underwent trial runs,’ says the plant’s Head of Recycling Department Sergei Ivanov.
According to ChTZ Head of Engineering Vehicle Overhaul Andrei Shashin, the repairs and recycling jobs improved the tractors’ performance characteristics.
‘For one, we got D160 engines upgraded to D180 ones. Some of the old tractors were T130 makes and got upgraded to T170. New cabins and electric appliances were also introduced in all the tractors,’ Ivanov said.
